I want your session to be safe, comfortable, and fun — and that means sometimes the best plan is to reschedule. Below is what you can expect if weather or illness interferes with your session.
Weather
What if the weather doesn’t cooperate?
Sometimes Mother Nature has other plans! Depending on the conditions, we may need to reschedule. If this happens, I’ll send you a link to my calendar so you can select a new time that works best for you.
I usually reschedule for:
- Heavy rain or snowstorms
- Windy conditions (15–20+ mph, where hair blows, eyes water, and communication becomes challenging)
- Extreme temperatures (hot or cold — for safety and comfort, and to protect my camera gear)
A little weather magic:
Some conditions that might seem “bad” can actually create gorgeous photos! Light drizzle, fog, or certain snowfalls can be magical — as long as it’s safe for everyone to travel and we’re both comfortable meeting for the session.
Illness
What if someone isn’t feeling well?
If you, your little ones, or anyone in your session is sick, please let me know so we can reschedule. I photograph and handle newborns regularly, so staying healthy is a top priority.
Why rescheduling is helpful:
- Children may look tired, red-eyed, or uncomfortable when under the weather.
- Photos are often better when everyone is feeling their happiest and healthiest.
Health precautions I take:
- I stay up to date on vaccines and boosters
- I use hand sanitizer prior to sessions
- I skip handshakes
- I self-assess for any cold-like symptoms on the day of your session
Bottom line: Your comfort, safety, and the quality of your images are my top priorities. If weather or illness might affect your session, we’ll work together to pick a day that works better.
