It’s the small details that make up our days, the details that usually go unnoticed. The way your little one shows a toothless smile as they proudly help mix the pancake batter, or the way your kids walk down the hall with their arms around each other’s backs. With a documentary session, I’ll spend four hours with your family to capture some of these precious everyday memories.

Family Session FAQ:
Q: When is the best time to schedule my family session?
A: I recommend reaching out to book your family session at least one or two months before the date when you’d like your session to happen. Generally speaking, up to six months ahead of time is ideal so you can ensure your preferred date is reserved and so you have plenty of time to think about and coordinate wardrobes.
Q: What happens if the weather ends up not cooperating on my session date?
A: Depending on the type of weather, we may need to reschedule your session. If this happens, I’ll send you a link to my calendar so you can look at the time slots available and pick what works best for you. Weather we usually reschedule to avoid: rain/snow storms, heavy rain, wind (15-20 mph winds and up are where it starts to be too much for a nice session).
Something to keep in mind: some weather that might not seem ideal at first glance can actually result in the BEST photos! For example, a light drizzle, foggy morning, or a snowfall can be SO fun and magical if we’re lucky enough to be able to do it safely! Some snowfalls are beautiful for photography sessions while others can look too chaotic such as when the snow is coming down sideways (ha!). If it’s the right kind of snow for a photography session to still take place, I will also take into consideration the safety of driving in such conditions and ultimately both parties (both you the client and I the photographer) will need to agree/be comfortable with traveling to meet for the session.
